Provided a platform to host Building Management system to provide a visual representation and status of all equipment.
Planned, managed, and migrated over a 100 users of the hotel to Office 365. Executed a staged migration by departments to minimize downtime and increase productivity.
Implemented the AlienVault Unified Security Management (USM) platform to provide hotel-wide security capabilities and improve visibility of the network infrastructure. Configured AlienVault Host-based Intrusion Detection System (HIDS) and vulnerability scanning to enable log monitoring and collection, rootkit detection, and file integrity monitoring for enterprise assets.
Sub-Projects
Deployed Veeam Backup & Replication software to simplify backup management, increase Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) / Recovery Point Objects (RPO) and complement VMware with image-based backups and replications. Integrated with VMware vSphere and HPe Nimble SAN to improve availability and seamlessly maintain the 3-2-1 rule of backups.
Undertook a complete modernization of the outdated analog security video system. Implemented a centralized, network-based video security solution utilizing FortiRecorder, FortiCameras, Nimble Storage Area Network, and Juniper PoE switches.
Upgraded the previous Firewall, Web Filter, and Spam Filter security solutions with a unified Fortinet system. Implemented an advanced next-generation firewall solution using Fortinet technologies, including IPS, Web Filtering, Email/Spam Filtering, WAP, SSL inspection and sandboxing. Consolidated Barracuda Web Filter and Sonicwall firewall into a single management interface through FortiOS solutions.
Implemented Phase 2 of the server virtualization to address issues with End-of-Life software and hardware. VUtilized virtualization technology to optimize IT infrastructure capabilities and eliminate physical limitations. Designed a solution that provides server redundancy using VMWare and a centralized SAN to provide instant VM and data snapshots, as well as array-based replication for improved disaster recovery with Nimble's Cache Accelerated Sequential Layout (CASL) architecture. FReduced data center footprint by fully virtualizing all physical servers.
Deployed PSMS Secure Payment Solution (SPS) and integrated Shift4 True P2PE and 4Res to provide a simple, seamless, and secure payment solution that is PCI-validated. With SPS, sensitive cardholder data is not stored in memory or within the application, reducing overall PCI scope. The solution also introduced support for EMV, NFC, and Apple Pay processing capabilities.
Undertook a comprehensive redesign and upgrade of the flat-network infrastructure to handle the growing number of network devices, such as EMV and IP security cameras. Adopted a two-tier hierarchical network design (collapsed core) that offers high availability switching (Virtual Chassis/LACP) and network segmentation utilizing VLANs to isolate and manage access to sensitive traffic, thereby reducing overall PCI scope. The infrastructure is designed to be scalable, allowing for easy replacement of 1GbE to 10GbE optics, making it future-proof for potential increased bandwidth requirements.
Implemented server virtualization to address issues with outdated software and hardware. The virtualization technology was selected to eliminate physical limitations and optimize IT infrastructure capabilities. The solution includes server redundancy using VMWare and a centralized SAN that allows for instant VM and data snapshots for improved disaster recovery using Nimble's CASL architecture. Reduced the data center footprint by more than half and minimized overall IT costs by eliminating hardware vendor lock-in.
